Golden Gate Paper Company Inc. is your bridge to the highest quality and most competitively priced green paper products made from 100% recycled fibers in the North American Southwest. The creation of Golden Gate Paper Company is a natural and logical step in the 30 year history of our founder, the San Francisco Paper Making Company. San Francisco’s production facilities are located in the city of Mexicali, Mexico which sits on the US/MEXICO border across from Calexico, California. It is here in Mexicali that in 1980 the Garcia family began a joint venture with Crown-Zellerbach Inc. – a wholesale supplier and paper manufacturer founded in 1924 in San Francisco. The new company name reflected its connection to the city by the bay. By 1993 when the partnership ended, the paper product manufacturing seed planted 13 years earlier had sprouted and firmly taken root. It created a culture of continuous improvement and set high standards in paper product manufacturing and converting technology. It also instilled a penchant for quality and excellence in both the finished paper product and service. Today, the San Francisco Paper Mill is the third largest in Mexico and supplies 10% of the national market. With five paper machines, it is the largest paper mill in the southwest, and by capacity (150,000 tons/year) ranks as the 22nd largest paper mill in North America.

In 2009, The San Francisco Paper Company established The Golden Gate Paper Company as its North American headquarters to bring this commitment to excellence to the United States tissue market. Golden Gate Paper™ is well positioned, well prepared, and highly committed to deliver high quality innovative paper products and services throughout the Southwest and the greater North American tissue paper products market. Our product portfolio includes premium and value tissue paper products for both the consumer and the “away from home” janitorial markets. Our paper products are manufactured from the more than 400 tons of waste paper we process daily to produce 100% recycled de-inked pulp, and designed to meet luxury, economy, and ecology minded consumers alike. The paper making and converting technology is state-of-the-art and meets or exceeds all current industrial global standards. But perhaps the most important asset in our industrial complex is intangible. It is our vast experience and patience. Over the years both proprietary and state-of-the- art commercially available tissue paper product technology have fused with critically designed internal processes to produce the highest quality and the most competitively priced tissue paper products from de-inked recycled fiber. These processes, developed over 30 years, have been refined and continually renewed over time to produce tissue paper products that open both doors and minds.

Speaking of positioning, our production facility is only 120 miles from San Diego, 280 from Los Angeles, 400 from Phoenix, and 420 from Las Vegas there-by within a very cost efficient reach of Golden Gate Paper™ customers in the Southwest.
